I hate them
they said hello, we did not, we both just glared and looked through them.
might mention - these particular ones were only ever decent to us at the kh when they needed advice on buying a car (i was useful) or when their son's truck broke down and they needed mechanical help (my husband was useful).
plus, last year when we were moving a few blocks away, the wife drove by and stopped as we were outside loading a truck, and she gasped in horror at the sight of my handgun on my side.

My KH spy told me that there was a rumor going around that I 'brandished' a gun at her, and that we'd gone crazy.
And we quit going 2.5 years ago anyways and none of them gave a damn.
the hohos would hate that.

please describe a typical saturday for a jw child.
reason being my jw once told me that all jw children love the door to door (yeah right) and they have all afternoon to play.
don't they need to get ready for the sunday service?
lay in bed in the am and listen. . .it's quiet in the house, maybe my parents are going, we don't have to go! what was i thinking, of course they're going. . .
. . .wait for my mom to open my door and ask "are you going out in service?" (like, I'm 12, and I have a choice??!) my stock answer, fearing her divine wrath, 'I don't know'. What! Everyone who loves Hoho is going out in service! Get up, we leave in 35 minutes!
. . .lay there some more, maybe i don't feel very good. . .maybe Hoho knows I feel just fine. . .maybe i won't see any of my classmates, maybe we won't work that street again where 3 of them live all in a row. . .
when i joined some 20 years ago, i was 99% sure i'd make it alive and see the new system without dying, because they way they put it, the end was so close, and i was so young.. today, if i was still going to meetings, i would say that i would be 20% sure of seeing the new sytem without dying first.. if you were still a jw, or if you still are going to meetings, what % would you say is your odds of making it to the new system without dying?.
I think it's high, like 95%. I know my parents believe it still, and they're 71, still believing no one should do anything of importance or for enjoyment of any sort, because at any moment we'll have it all . . .blah blah.
on the side and back windows of a minivan, however on the back, someone scraped off a few choice letters.
.. original: god powers my van.
became: god owe s m an.

ha
kind of long...thanks in advance for letting me vent!.
my sister has been a jw since 1974. she's been waiting for the end of this "system of things" since the fall of 1975. she never went to college.
she has had probably 80 or more jobs since 1974. she has no retirement savings.
Good for you and your bro! Great responses.
Golly do those people get suckier and suckier!!!
do you feel there was a "gap" between those who had more materially and those families or individuals who had less?.
example: did those who had "less" materially not get invited to private homes for get togethers as frequently or not at all?.
thanks for your input.. juni .
Absolutely, in every cong I've ever been in.
We, both my parents while I was growing up, and my husband and me, invited the poor and the miserable - those outside the mainstream - over for dinner and into service often, because we believed that was what we were supposed to do, plus it brought some happiness and togetherness to people who were generally left out because of their circumstances.
thankyou so much for all the good wishes you have sent us in the last few days, trev has been printing up the emails, pms and threads, and bringing the cards to show me every day, and i get a lift every time i see him coming in with more of your lovely messages to read.. it's been a tough time for both of us, and it won't get any easier.
i am dreading chemo, to be honest, but i have to bear it, as i would anything that gives me hope.
but that's for monday, and i am going to enjoy myself as much as i can this weekend.
Glad to hear from you!!
